Remembering loved ones through tradition, prayer, and the hope of eternal life.
Holy Family’s front hall was home to a beautiful Día de los Muertos altar that brought a meaningful cultural tradition into our school community. Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a Mexican tradition that honors and remembers loved ones who have died. This tradition is deeply connected to our Catholic faith as we observed All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day. We remember those who have gone before us, celebrate the saints who inspire us, and pray for the souls of our loved ones. Our Catholic faith assures us that death is not the end of our story, and we find comfort in the hope of eternal life in Heaven.
The altar offered a special opportunity to celebrate the lives of those we love and reflect on the ways they continue to shape who we are. Holy Family families were invited to contribute a photo of a loved one who had passed away, giving our school community a meaningful way to remember them in prayer and keep them close to our hearts.
