Family Involvement

Parent Organizations

There are many opportunities for parents to get involved within Holy Family Catholic School. Among the parent organizations are the following:

Home and School Association

The purpose and direction of the Home and School Association at Holy Family is to build a sense of community among the school families and to encourage a positive relationship between school and home. The activities planned and promoted by the Home and School Association reflect this purpose and are not considered fundraisers. If a profit is realized from sponsored events, it is used to purchase materials or equipment that will enhance the quality of education for the students and school.

Yearly activities include Open House, HASA Halfsies, Trunk or Treat, Father-Daughter Dance, Book Fair and An Evening in Honor of the Christ Child/Christmas Program.

All families with students at Holy Family are members of the Home and School Association. Committee meetings are held monthly to plan events, and anyone is welcome to attend. Meeting dates are scheduled on the school’s monthly calendar. Everyone is also invited and encouraged to participate and assist at the sponsored events. Participation is voluntary. Third Source Funding hours are not given for volunteering in the Home and School Association events.

In Touch with the Arts

The In Touch with the Arts (ITWA) program at Holy Family strives to enrich our children through the appreciation of fine arts. Parent volunteers share information about art, music and culture during visits to the classroom. Each classroom session usually consists of a presentation of that month’s subject along with a project to help students better understand and enjoy the topic.

ITWA strives to expose our children to a broad range of artists, styles, periods and media from the art world. Artists previously presented include Vincent Van Gogh, Frank Lloyd Wright and Winslow Homer. Previous performances included Bluegrass music by “Bentgrass,” Irish Dance by Holy Family students and a Barbershop Quartet. ITWA has played a role in helping beautify our school with mosaics over the classroom doors.

ITWA has been a part of Holy Family for about 25 years. Over the years, it has evolved into a broad art appreciation program. In 1997, the name became In Touch with the Arts to reflect the inclusion of all the arts. The program now shows students how the arts are interrelated with culture and history. ITWA and Holy Family also have collaborated in providing a showcase of the students’ talents via the Spring Art Show and Band Concert. This Art Show has on display artwork from all the students from Holy Family.

Volunteers meet about five times over the course of the school year and go into their child’s classroom with another parent volunteer. The subject matter (artist, music or other theme) is chosen and researched by our committee ahead of time. ITWA meetings give volunteers the opportunity to brainstorm and come up with a project.

Athletic Booster Club

The Holy Family Catholic School Booster Club is a volunteer group of parents and friends who work closely with the Athletic Director and school administration to identify the needs of the school, with an emphasis on athletics. The main function is to provide financial support and other support for those needs. For more information about joining the Booster Club, please email us.
