About Me
Hello my name is Aria Heim!
This will be my fifth year teaching at Holy Family, but 10th year teaching overall. I look forward to making more music with all the students that take band.
I grew up in Green Bay, WI and attended Green Bay Christen School (now STM) K-8th grade, graduated Green Bay West high school in 2007 and earned my Bachelor's in Music Education from St. Norbert College in 2011. I am licensed to teach Instrumental and General Music to students in grades K-12. My primary instrument is trombone, but I also enjoy playing all the instruments in the band.
I taught at Kewaunee Catholic School in 2012 and spent a year playing trombone in the United States Marine Corps Band in 2013... Yes, I did have to go through boot camp and combat training and yes, it was the hardest thing I've ever had to do in my life!
I'm married the most amazing man in the world, Nicholas Heim, we have the cutest daughter Aralynn. She just turned one and as cute as can be - we couldn't be more happy!
Besides playing music, I like taking care of myself through walking, hiking, yoga, taking care of my mom's super fluffy dog Manny and of course being a Mom!
I love taking trips to Rocky Mountain National Park (where Nick and I took out honeymoon) and traveling abroad. To date I've been to Canada, Mexico (twice) Europe (England, France, Switzerland, Austria (twice), Germany, Italy and the Czech Republic). I also enjoy baking gluten-free food for my husband (he can never get enough of whatever I make for him).
I feel blessed to be teaching at such an amazing school! Students here are the best and stride for excellence in everything they do. I am looking forward to teaching and guiding them on their musical journey and sharing my love of music to everyone in my classroom. I hope that all my students will continue to make music and play their instruments long after they graduate.
